Electric Michaelangelo Question 2

What do you think of the relationship between Cy and his late father? How do you think it affects him growing up? What do you think of Reeda's explanations of her late husband to Cy?

i think that it's very poetic or symbolic or whatever that cy was born on the night his father died. however, as i continue to read, i begin to wonder if the fisherman who perished was REALLY cy's father...we will see i suppose.

I love how Reeda is faithful to the memory of the father, maybe even if it's just for the sake of Cy to feel proud of his family. Reeda strikes me as a tough old bird, and i love how she is raising her son on her own. i also think it's sweet how she smokes the pipe maybe as a way to remember Cy's dad, even if she doesn't really like it too much. i have drunk a heineken when i missed a boyfriend who loved them, even though i dont care for them. it's sentimental, maybe cheesy, but very human.

what i think is the most interesting about the memory of her husband/his dad is that she remembers what she wants to about him. what i mean is that she only tells the one side of the story...not what she remembers but what she wanted to remember.

to get the full side of the history of the fathers death he had to look it up at the local library. i have had really similar situations where you don't remember the reality of the situation.
